Name and any aliases: Lauren Cook, Trench Kamen (often enough 'Trench'), Cookie
Birthdate: 13 October 1987
How many rating communities are you in?: Two. If I'm in the mood, I don't see why not to join in the
Favorite bands/musicians: Depeche Mode, Hans Zimmer, Kanno Yoko, David Bowie, Metallica, Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails, Michael Crawford (he was the original Erik in Phantom of the Opera), Gackt, X-Japan, CAKE, Queen, Malice Mizer, Beethoven
Favorite authors/mangaka/webcomic artists: Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, CLAMP, B-Papas, Thomas Harris, Philip Pullman, Dan Brown, Jhonen Vasquez
Favorite stories (books, manga, whatever): You're talking to somewhat of a bibliophile, so... the His Dark Materials trilogy, Discworld, the Hannibal Lecter trilogy, Good Omens, Sandman, Shoujo Kakumei Utena, Tenkuu no Escaflowne (anime not the manga, thankyoumuch), Tokyo Babylon, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Phantom of the Opera, Arrested Development
Movies you'd recommend to cool people: I guess that would depend on your definition of 'cool', but... Silence of the Lambs, Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman Begins, for good measure End of Evangelion
Food you could snack on forever if health issues didn't get in the way: Chinese food
Hobbies: Reading, writing, web design, Dance Dance Revolution, guitar and alto saxophone, gaming (though that's tapered off lately)
Talents: I'm good at academia and other intellectual nonsense. I've been told I'm a good verbal manipulator. I'm a good listener, and I can put people at ease. I've got a fair hand for writing.
Issues that matter to you: Mostly issues involving individual rights, like gay marriage (pro) and affirmative action (anti)
Issues you don't care about: Economics; boring
Things you talk about a lot because you like them: Literature or manga, science, ideas, psychology, human nature
Things you don't talk about because you like them: Affection, emotions
Things you rant about: Ignorance, hypocrisy, the violation of an individual's right to be such
Things you'd like to rant about: People, but I dislike speaking ill of people and try to understand where they're coming from, even if they're pissing me off.
Your strengths: When it comes right down to it, I'm kind and gentle. I can argue my way out of almost any corner, but I won't pull the trigger on manipulation that is entirely self-serving. I'm intelligent and a quick learner, good at problem-solving and verbatim. I'm confident and soft-spoken, and I have a way of making awkward or shy people who see themselves as 'outcast' feel comfortable enough to open up to me honestly.
Your weaknesses: I'm so lost in my own head that I fail to see physical reality sometimes, and I can neglect or skip over hard facts in pursuit of a grander idea or theory. I jump to conclusions. I am incredibly non-confrontational and will run from conflict, but once I am put up to it, I commit with complete honesty. I hold a grudge forever, and the venom never fully clears my system. I am a sarcastic jerk-off prone to making barbed comments without prejudice, even if it's unfair territory.
What do people normally say about you (to others or to yourself)?: Usually something to the effect of "Hey, I need a ride after school today.", or, "Shut up, Lauren."
How do you normally introduce yourself?: I usually forget to give a formal introduction or give my name until asked. I either start a conversation or listen in the background until spoken to.
You'd be absolutely mortified if...: I lost my self-control, autonomy, or intelligence.
You'd be elated if...: I was the best writer in the entire world, ever in the history of anything. Oh, and that much of an unparalleled genius. That would be sweet.
Do you tend to agree with people a lot or argue with people a lot?: I'm undecided and 'gray' on most trivial topics, but on the issues on which I have made up my mind, I stick to my guns. If it is an issue about which I know people will not change their minds, I do not bother to argue. If among close friends, I can be quite the debator.
Do you talk to inanimate objects?: Yes.
Why or why not?: I wish I had an answer that isn't complete bullshit.
Finish this Engrish statement: The love can make the live become...: ...all your base?
Why do you like Tokyo Babylon?: It's a good story. If this were English class I would say "I have a penchant for stories with a philosophical slant that champion the individual and have an unconventional protagonist."
Who is your favorite character (major or minor)?: Sakurazuka Seishirou
What's your favorite TB arc?: "NEWS"
Which is better: X or Tokyo Babylon?: Tokyo Babylon
Do you love Tokyo?: I've never been there; my only impression comes from romanticized manga. But, in the manga sense: I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.
Anything else you'd like to say? Trench Kamen rules the night. When I'm king, you'll all be first up against the wall. Be nice to your parents, do your homework, and brush your teeth. Get off the internet every once in a while.
Post some pictures and/or describe your physical appearance. You can also post pictures you've taken that aren't of you, like your room or fighting produce.
This is how I organize my room. It's sterile.
